Art Therapy is a process that enables unconscious and conscious thoughts and feelings to be expressed in a safe, appropriate, and productive manner. By using different modalities, media, and materials this creative process becomes a healing and life-enhancing experience. The form of creative activities reflects the ideas, thoughts, and feelings to enhance self-awareness, and transform negative conceptions by re-directing chaotic energies into useful expressions. The art is used to empower the person and to strengthen their sense of self. Engaging in Art Therapy does not mean you need to be a professional artist. Art Therapy is not about the product, it is about the process.
